a word from our chief executive

Welcome to Venture Trust. We pride ourselves on being an innovative and forward-thinking organisation; constantly challenging one another to explore new ways to help young people make positive changes in their lives. What we do, essentially, is arm young people with the strategies they need to succeed for the rest of their lives. Out in the wilderness, taking part in intensive personal development activities, young people begin to discover that there are strengths that they didn't think they had, facets of their background and personality that they can draw upon. We’re there to support that journey, enabling young people to learn new skills and build the confidence and motivation they’ll need to make the changes they aspire to. I’m constantly inspired by the stories I hear from our participants - those who’ve experienced more in sixteen years than most of us do in a lifetime, yet who have the courage and resilience to take a ‘chance for change’ with us.

Whatever your interest in Venture Trust – as a participant, referrer or supporter – you’ll find information and inspiration on this site, as well as an insight into what really goes on during our programmes – in the participants’ own words.

venture trust malawi

We have recently been granted funding to begin work in Kachere Prison in Lilongwe, Malawi, where our outreach team will be working to improve prison conditions, help young men reduce their reoffending rates, and broaden the range of available educational and employment opportunities.

We are delighted that Dr. Mary Shawa, Secretary for Nutrition, HIV and AIDS in the Office of the President and Cabinet (OPC) in Malawi, has agreed to join us as Patron for Venture Trust Malawi -

venture trust nepal

We’re currently developing Venture Trust Nepal, an exciting partnership working with vulnerable young people in this beautiful but disadvantaged part of the world. In partnership with Shtrii Shakti, and five other Nepalese partner organisations, we are establishing a new programme of work that combines the best of practice of both Venture Trust and Shtrii Shakti to work with disadvantaged young people living in adversity within the Kathmandu valley.

We will have full details of this exciting new project online shortly, but in the meantime are delighted to announce that Joanna Lumley has agreed to act as Patron for Venture Trust Nepal.
