The Venture Trust Mobile
Venture Trust has recently acquired a new, specially built vehicle and trailer with space for twelve participants and five staff.
The Community Mobile Training Centre can be used as a training and planning space in participants’ own communities before heading into the wilderness, where it becomes a fully equipped “base camp”. It is totally self-sufficient, able to work anywhere in the UK, and can carry enough food and water for a five day course.
The vehicle carries laptops and multimedia equipment that participants can use for planning expedition routes, course reviews, action planning and research.
Accommodation is in Yurt-like tents that sleep six. Meals are prepared and eaten in a 7m long frame tent. Hot showers are available from onboard water heaters, and electricity to light the tents comes from an onboard generator.
The team of five full-time staff, supported by specialist sessional staff when appropriate, are qualified and trained to offer personal development courses year round anywhere in the UK.
