Inspiring Scotland today announced the results of their first funding round, granting long term support to Edinburgh-based charity the Venture Trust to enable them to expand their work with vulnerable young people throughout Scotland.

Greg Barton, Chief Executive of Venture Trust said “We are delighted to be the recipients of this grant; it will allow us to work with Inspiring Scotland to reach so many young people who would otherwise be left out in the cold.”
Venture Trust has an impressive track record in working with some of the most difficult to reach young people from throughout the UK. VT began work originally from a nineteenth century shooting lodge based in Applecross in the North West highlands of Scotland, more recently they have been working with agencies throughout the Central Belt to deliver programmes via their groundbreaking Community Mobile Training Centre, a specially converted coach and support vehicles which allow them to work in the communities most in need of th is kind of intervention.
This new grant will allow them to develop another two Community Mobile Training Centres as well as expand their work with young carers and young people leaving care.
Mr Barton said “Many young people in Scotland face tremendous difficulties in getting their lives on track. Working in partnership with other agencies we can help give young people a real boost that allows them to move forward and begin to take control over the direction their lives are going.”
